The State of Michigan has promoted MiRSA as a public-private partnerships developed to address employer's workforce needs. Currently, there are thirty-two (32) MiRSA in the State of Michigan, most noteworthy among these is the Long Term Care Michigan Regional Skills Alliance. The Detroit Workforce Development Department (DWDD) serves as the convener for the Long-Term Care Michigan Regional Skills Alliance (LTC MiRSA).
The Long Term Care Michigan Regional Skills Alliance (MiRSA) is an employer-led working group of collaborating partners, whose focus is on the long-term health care industry. The Long Term Care MiRSA collectively seeks to identify the specific skill sets needed within the employer's workforce (nursing homes, psychiatric hospitals,rehabilitative hospitals,assisted living centers, adult foster care facilities, medically focused group homes, hospice, and home health agencies) and working in conjunction with advocacy groups, workforce development professionals, and training providers, develops training programs that meet employers' needs.
